Confident Cycling

Riding your bike is an exhilarating experience.

Walk Bike MarinLearn the techniques in this free course to ride more confidently and more often while having more fun! This in-classroom and outdoor introduction course is perfect for new cyclists and those who want to feel more comfortable riding on streets.

Cyclists will learn:

  • Tips for operating a bicycle in varying street situations
  • Techniques to avoid or deal with road hazards
  • Emergency maneuvers
  • Cyclists’ legal rights and responsibilities

Confident CyclistConfident Cycling is available to all individuals 16 and up. Teens 14 and 15 are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

 

Two consecutive class sessions:

Tam High School, Mill Valley

Dates:

Tuesday, September 28, 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.

 

Saturday, October 2, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Registration fee: $25. Fee will be refunded upon completion of the course. If registrant does not attend the entire course the fee will be not be refunded.

Confident Cycling meets the requirement of the League American Bicyclists class Traffic Skills 101.

This class is made possible by a recent $25 million federal grant funding the Nonmotorized Transportation Pilot Program (NTPP) in Marin County and the collaboration between WalkBikeMarin and the Marin County Bicycle Coalition.
