Marin Bike to Work Day
Energizer Stations

2007 Canal Energizer StationThis year, Marin will be providing eighteen Energizer Stations on Thursday, May 15 to cheer on cycling commuters—many of whom, we hope, will be cycling a commute for the first time. From approximately 6:30-9:30 AM we’ll be passing out the ever-popular musette bags stuffed with energy bars, literature and other giveaways to be determined. Riders can also stop by Mike’s Bikes of Sausalito from 4-6 PM for an end-of-day snack and some socializing.

Dust off your old bike, get a safety inspection at your local bike shop and try pedaling to work for a change.

Partnering with the following local businesses, a variety of coupons will be found in this year’s musette bags: Sports Basement, Barton’s Bagels, Fleet Feet Sports, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, and 3 Ring Cycles.

If each driver in Marin replaced a nine-mile car trip with a bicycle trip just once a month, it would cut carbon dioxide emissions by over 4,730 tons per year. And the riders would be having fun doing it.

Volunteer to staff a station near you (see the list below) by contacting Jo Ann Richards at 415-456-3469x7# or joann@marinbike.org.
