Take a Ride with MCBC!
For beginners, intermediate and advanced riders
Fun Ride Locust, Sunday, July 17
Type: Strenuous 40-mile endurance ride with mix of road and trails.
Skill level: Intermediate to advanced, should be comfortable on loose fire roads and trails
Start: Java Hut in Fairfax at 9:30 a.m.
Take a 5-6 hour endurance ride with 40+ miles of road, fire road and multi-use trails and there's going to be a lot of climbing! We meet at Java Hut in Fairfax, there you’ll learn about the route for the day. A $15 donation to MCBC is suggested, or for $10 more you can join MCBC and get the Marin Bicycle Map, in case you get lost! Prizes are awarded for good deeds at the post ride gathering at Gestalt Haus on Bolinas Avenue. This ride is suited for a cyclocross bike or a mountain bike.
Tour de Marin, Sunday, July 24
Type: Moderate supported 40-mile road ride
Skill level: Seasoned beginner to advanced
Start: Whole Foods Market, San Rafael at 9:30 AM
Join the Marin County Bicycle Coalition and Whole Foods Market Sunday, July 24 on a 40-mile ride through scenic Marin and then watch the final stage of the Tour de France (Champs-Élysées) in the afternoon! There will be great food all along the ride, including fine gourmet cuisine from Marin artisan cheese and bread makers! You'll ride past Big Rock, see redwood groves and horse stables, and take in a feast at the Nicasio energizer station.
All ride levels welcome, no one is left behind. The ride will be well supported, with ride leaders, sweepers, course marshals and SAG (support and gear) wagon courtesy of Mike's Bikes.

SF Mission Bike Ride, Saturday, July 30
Type: Moderate 15 mile ride
Skill Level: Beginner up
Start: 9:30 am at the Larkspur Ferry
Discover San Francisco’s bicycle network and all the cool bike shops and bike apparel makers in San Francisco’s most lively neighborhoods! We’ll meet at the Larkspur Ferry Termial cross the Bay to the SF Ferry Terminal where our ride begins at the foot of Market Street. Will head west and veer to the Mission District, where we’ll stop at Box Dog Bikes, Mission Bicycle, and Pedal Revolution. Then we’ll stop off at Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream and Mission Workshop, before our return trip down Folsom back to catch the ferry.
Marin Century, August 6
Type: Road ride. Pick your distance: five rides vary from 50 K to 200 miles.
Skill Level: Novice to Expert
Start: 6 - 10 AM depending on your distance; Vallecito Plaza, San Rafael
