Sixth Annual Big Bike Bash
Free to MCBC Members or Join at the Door for $20

Saturday, November 22, 6 -10 PM
Mill Valley Community Center
180 Camino Alto, Mill Valley

On Saturday, November 22, the Marin County Bicycle Coalition (MCBC) will hold its 6th Annual Big Bike Bash. The event will take place from 6-10 PM at the Mill Valley Community Center, 180 Camino Alto in Mill Valley.

Guest speakers at this year's Big Bike Bash include: Marin Supervisor Susan Adams (with a slide show from The Netherlands) and bicycle icon Joe Breeze (with a slide show of bicycle improvements here in Marin). The MCs for the evening will be MCBC Executive Director Deb Hubsmith and Board President Kim Baenisch.

The event will include a free food buffet and a no-host bar as well as a silent auction, bargain marketplace, and a raffle giving away a Marin Rift Zone mountain bike, a Breezer Villager transportation bike, and accommodations at the Abalone Inn in Inverness. Raffle tickets are being sold by MCBC volunteers, as well as at the Marin Coffee Roasters shops in Fairfax and San Anselmo.

The Bay Area's "Biker Boys" band will be playing live jazz music during the cocktail hour and dinner. The same group will play dance music later in the evening. Musicians include Mika Scott, Tom Finch, and Dan Duffin.

The Big Bike Bash is a free party for members of the MCBC. Those who wish to join the MCBC (and attend this great party) can sign-up at the door on the night of the event for the lowest membership rate of only $20. Besides this annual party, membership benefits include newsletters, rides, events, discounts from many local businesses, and the satisfaction of knowing that you are working for a safer and sustainable transportation system that is healthy and community-building for all our residents.

The Marin County Bicycle Coalition is a non-profit organization that promotes safe bicycling for everyday transportation and recreation. The MCBC operates five main programs: Building the Bicycle and Pedestrian Network, Safe Routes to Schools, Share the Road, Public Outreach Project, and Advancing the Bicycle Agenda, with the goal of achieving 20% of Marin's transportation trips on foot or by bicycle. Our vision is to create a culture that embraces walking and biking while reducing traffic and improving personal and planetary health.
