Bike to Work Day
Kick-Off Event with
Supervisor Susan Adams and the Marin County Bicycle Coalition
Friday, March 25, 8 – 9:30 AM

On Friday, March 25 from 8 – 9:30 AM, the Marin Bike to Work Day Team will host a free Kick-Off event to get stakeholders in the county excited about planning and preparing for the Bay Area’s 11th annual Bike to Work Day.

Energizer StationThe event will be held at the San Rafael Community Center, 618 B Street. Those who plan to attend, should RSVP to Kim Baenisch, Executive Director of the Marin County Bicycle Coalition at 415-456-3469 x2# by Friday, March 18.

The Kick-Off meeting includes breakfast foods and drinks, and is aimed at getting employers, government agencies, health professionals and the bicycle community involved in promoting and assisting with the event which will take place in May. The meeting will include a Powerpoint presentation on Bike to Work Day, informational hand-outs, employer participation ideas, Energizer Station how-to’s, and some inspiring words by Marin County Supervisor and bicyclist Susan Adams.

Water bottle giveaway at GGBBike to Work Day will take place on Thursday, May 19, 2005. Funding for the event is provided by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. Bike to Work Day is being organized by the Bay Area Bicycle Coalition in conjunction with local bicycling organizations and government agencies from throughout the Bay Area. The theme for this year’s Bike to Work Day is “Recruit a Co-worker.”
