3 Ring Cycles

Brad McKenzie at Work3 Ring Cycles is a family-owned and -operated shop that defies your typical “bike shop” classification. The shop was founded in Sacramento in 2003, relocated to San Rafael in April 2006 and has since moved to the bike mecca town of San Anselmo. The owners, Brad and Lindsay McKenzie, fell naturally into a retail role, both having had extensive history in the bike industry starting from the retail level and moving into distribution and wholesale sales.

Brad McKenzie grew up in Mill Valley alongside the growing mountain bike crowd, and trained as a bike mechanic at the US Olympic Center in Colorado Springs. Lindsay McKenzie grew up in a small town in Canada and began working in bike shops in 1986 to support her “habit”. Together they’ve got over 50 years of experience in the bicycle industry.

The McKenzies credit the success of 3 Ring Cycles to a focus on customer service and maintaining a small-shop atmosphere. Their passion for bikes is reflected in their work and their effort to ensure that each customer has the best ride possible. The 1300-squre-foot shop offers a welcoming spot to just come and hang out, complete with retro couch and plasma TV where you can always sit and watch the latest in cycling DVDs.

3 Ring Cycles offers a full spectrum of bikes in road, mountain, tri and kids. They also have a distinct focus on the female cyclist. Top name brands offered are Bianchi, Look, Ridley, Rocky Mountain, Pivot, Salsa and Surly. The quality and performance of these bikes, combined with Brad’s pro mechanic skills, have found many customers enjoying the “ride of their life”!

3 Ring Cycles is open 11am – 6 pm Monday through Friday, Sat: 9-5 and Sun: 11-4. Check them out at www.3ringcycles.com.
