Caesar's Cyclery

Caesar's Cyclery is one of the only totally family-owned and operated bicycle shops in Marin. Cesar Chang-Castillo runs the shop with the help of his family members: his wife Stella, sons Cesar, Jr. and Erik, and Cesar, Jr.'s wife Michele.

Cesar started building Schwinn bikes at Mike's Bikes in 1968, and continued his apprenticeship at Mill Valley Cyclery. He opened the first Caesar's on Greenfield Avenue in San Anselmo in 1985, and in 1989 moved to his current larger and newly built shop at 29 San Anselmo Avenue in San Anselmo.

Caesar's Cyclery features a full range of bikes, parts, rentals, and service, concentrating on families and downhill bikes. If you talk to Cesar, however, you'll learn that he is most proud of the community services that his shop performs. Cesar visits schools to perform free safety checkups for students and provide reports of needed repairs. He also does demos on topics such as how to use helmets and how to do bicycle safety checks. Caesar's Cyclery also frequently donates bikes and parts for charity raffles.
