Road and Tri Sports

Road and Tri Sports, in the Bel Marin Keys area of Novato, opened in March 2006, becoming the newest bike shop in Marin County. Owner Rob King describes the new store as a “boutique triathlon store with road bikes.”

Road and Tri Sports specializes in bikes for serious riders, with a focus on triathlon-related gear. They carry bicycles, parts, and clothing by Fuji, Quintana Roo, DeSoto, Zipp, Blackwell Research, Hed and other fine brands. Rob is especially proud to be selling the King Bicycles line of road or triathlon models in titanium or steel, all hand-built in California to your measurements.

Road and Tri’s service department can repair and tune up your bike for the week or the season. Their in-house “built fit cycle” can be adjusted very rapidly to determine the riding position that works best for you, based on the type and level of riding and racing that you do. The fit cycle’s load can be changed as necessary to show how power and spinning work for you in various positions; changing the load also allows the staff to observe you under power, not just sitting in one position. The cycle’s saddle and bars can be exchanged rapidly as necessary, allowing fine tuning of your position and comfort right in the shop. Your custom bike is then designed to your determined best position, and you are given a print-out with the design spec information.
