Bicyclists will either need to follow traffic control if they wish to stay in the street, or dismount and walk their bikes on the sidewalk along the Bay side of South St.
The City of Sausalito will be performing road work along South Street. The northbound lane of South St. will be repaved from roughly Alexander to Second St. Traffic will be under flagger control. Northbound and southbound traffic on South St. will alternate using the southbound lane during the work which is expected to take two days. The first day will include four inches of pavement grinding and placement of approximately two inches of AC. The second day will include placing pavement fabric and two more inches of AC. Overnight between the two working days, both lanes will be opened to traffic though there will be a vertical difference between existing and new pavement of two inches.
Currently, the schedule is for work to start on Tuesday September 26 and be completed on Wednesday September 27. Work will start at 7AM in order to complete each day’s activities as early as possible.
