news Biketoberfest 2016 – A Fall Celebration for the books!

We overcame threatening weather for another successful Biketoberfest! Thank you for your sense of enthusiasm as we moved forward with our rain or shine event. Surprisingly, no one headed for the exits when the drops started to fall. People were prepared and many seemed to enjoy the short bursts of rain with anticipation. A little adverse weather didn’t dampen folks enthusiasm to support trail access in Marin!

Did we have a great mix of exhibitors or what?!

Biketoberfest 2016 had amazing bikes, apparel and accessories on display – how about all those e-bikes! We had an enticing selection of brewers, including the People’s Choice Award Winners (in order of preference):

  1. Knee Deep Brewing Company
  2. Lagunitas Brewing Company, and
  3. Alpine Brewing Company.

With our reconfiguring of the beer garden area this year, Biketoberfest 2016 had more space for people to socialize and mingle!

The music was excellent this year, including headlining act Soul Ska. Timing it perfectly with the weather, they shredded a 60 minute set that had people dancing and left the audience wanting more. Good thing they didn’t stick around for an encore, as it started to come down pretty hard shortly after they left the stage.

Thanks again for coming out under the circumstances, we hope you had a great time. Even with the rain, we raised over $20,000 for our work to expand Marin’s network of bike lanes, pathways and trails.

A Big Thank You! to our Sponsors listed below and to all the volunteers who gave there time to  produce another great event.  We’ll have some more photos posted to our Facebook page, but in the meantime, here are a few from the top of the pile – courtesy of Biketoberfest photographer Miguel Farias!

Cheers!

Tom, Vernon and the Biketoberfest team
