Marin has many excellent examples of bike commuting heroes. We all know at least one cyclist who makes it look easy – always smiling as they cover the miles to work, school and errands on two wheels.  Yes, they live and breathe bicycles, reaping the health and mental benefits of bicycling, making every day a “Bike to Work Day.” That rider could be selected as the Marin Bike Commuter of the Year!

But you need to tell us about them!  Nominations for the Bike Commuter of the Year opened on March 14 and will be closing this Monday, April 4. To nominate any rider you know,  just visit and share their story.

Funding Boon for Bicycle Sharing In Marin

Earlier this month,the Metropolitan Transportation Commission approved $824,000 across Marin and Sonoma counties to fund bicycle sharing in the SMART train corridor. Expected to roll out in late 2018, the will provide a fleet of rugged, GPS-tagged utility bikes at Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit stations and key destinations in cities along the rail corridor
